Film for Mobile - Workshop
















Film for Mobile – a workshop on making films for mobile phones organized by Mobitel and conducted by Mo Films International was held recently at the Hilton Residencies Colombo. MOfilm is a US based company who has been working in the mobile film industry for a long time and the internationally recognized body for mobile films. The Project team and the steering Committee was invited for the event.

All the participants were given tips on making MoFilms and was asked to make some Films for molile phones. It was a good experience for Youth eTV project team and the steering committee.

more than 150 professionals in Sri Lankan Film and Teledrama industry took part in the event including leading media personals.

The on line seminar on mobile films is successful




Youth eTV conducted an online seminar on mobile films connecting Nanasala centres island wide as a trial project using web tools freely available in internet. We have proved our innovative nature with this event. We made a mile stone in the Sri Lankan communication; conducting the online seminar connecting a large number of people. We had some technical issues at the first instance, but was managed to overcome with the support of Nanasala team. Youth eTV is build on the basics of creativity and innovation making room to learn by trial and error.

We are proud to announce our achievement as the first organization conducted an online seminar on mobile films in Sri Lanka. We thank Nanasala team and all the Nanasala centers across the country for the contribution in making the event a success. They showed their dedication in driving the nation towards new technology and proved their capacity in ICT in Sri Lanka.
The guest speaker on the seminar was Mr. Dhanushka Gunathilake. He has been trained in cinematography and direction from reputed institutions such as Sri Lanka Television Training Institute (SLTTI) and Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).

Some of the major projects that he has cinematographed are educational fictional films for Maharashtra Knowledge Company Limited (MKCL); Save the Children film against child labour ‘Glass Wear’; AIDS awareness for BBC and DD; an episode of ‘The Amazing Race’ for AXN channel and 20 AD films. His film ‘Year Planner’ won the best film Critic award at WLC film festival in 2008.

He contributes as a Director to Biroba Films Pvt Ltd in India and serves as a consultant to Editing Table- Colombo and is a visiting faculty to the Indira School of Communication- Pune in India.
